HOW TO CHANGE BATTERY IN INFINITI KEY FOB

Taking your daily commute to the next level is simple when you invest in an INFINITI as your next vehicle. As part of the current lineup, you can expect some great features like the INFINITI Intelligent Key and remote start system. While you should get many years out of the battery that comes included with your key fob, there is the chance that your battery would need to be replaced at some point. Here at Crest INFINITI, we have a few tips on how to change your battery yourself.

What Kind of Battery Does the INFINITI Key Fob Utilize?
 The current key fob that is used across the INFINITI platform is a CR2025. If you have an INFINITI with an Intelligence Key, you’ll want to grab a CR2032 battery. You can stop by our location in Frisco if you need to purchase the battery or have questions about your specific key fob.

Changing the Battery
Pressing the release tab on the back of your key fob will allow you to remove the metal key from the fob. There will be a small battery panel that is located under this area. You’ll need a flathead screwdriver to remove the cover from the battery compartment carefully.

The dead battery can be removed and replaced with the new version. The positive side of the battery should be face-down inside the fob. Re-attach the panel’s cover and place the key back in its spot. Your key fob should automatically be working again after replacing the battery.

Other Problems
It’s possible that you’ll still have a few issues with your key fob even after replacing the battery. For example, if you’re having trouble starting your vehicle using the push-button and you’ve already replaced the battery, you may have a bigger issue going on that will require professional attention. If your battery is running low, it should still work as long as you’re holding the fob close to the push button. If all else fails, you can use the key that is located in the back of your fob to start the vehicle up. This key also unlocks your doors from the outside.
