WHICH CAR LED THE 2018 BOSTON MARATHON?

Sporting an all-new design and many surprises under the hood, the 2019 INFINITI QX50 led the Boston Marathon. The brand honored the 122nd Marathon and the Boston Athletic Association’s Year of Service.

Among the service organizations recognized, the Semper Fi Fund was singled out for its commitment to our nation’s injured military members. Regular volunteer Deb Kerr was chosen to ride in the QX50, setting the pace for the race as it left Hopkinton on Patriots’ Day.

The race ended in Copley Square where an INFINITI interactive exhibit was set up to entertain visitors and to await the arrival of marathon runners. The brand also sponsored the Boston Athletic Associations Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. VIP Tents were set up to honor the top finishers in these events.

This is a big year for INFINITI as it introduces the completely redesigned QX50. This luxury crossover has a new VC-Turbo under the hood. First of its kind, the turbo uses a variable compression ratio. Owners will appreciate the way that it offers fuel efficiency without sacrificing performance. High torque rates and ample horsepower make sure the 2019 INFINITI QX50 driver is happy.

Slits, inlets, and outlets are placed strategically on the bumpers and wheel arches.

ProPilot is also on the menu. This self-driving system combines adaptive cruise control and a lane keeper. It is used at highway speeds and requires minimal input from the driver.

QX50 owners can enjoy other exclusive brand technology. For instance, the predictive forward collision watch which looks several car lengths ahead. In another example, moving object detection works with the 360-degree camera system to help drivers avoid trouble of all kinds.
